Our Mission

Gather YAL (You Are Loved) is a Christian Singles ministry building a community of singles in Alamance County, North Carolina, and the surrounding
area. Our mission is to provide a safe place for Christian Singles to gather and fellowship with one another while growing closer to God.

Conduct of Standards/Guidelines

Our gatherings are for Christian singles open to learning the teachings of Jesus Christ by interacting with a Christian community. We are from several different churches, united in our love for Jesus Christ and each other.
 
We welcome all types of singles to our gatherings, including those never married, widowed, divorced, or separated. If separated, we ask that you refrain from dating until you are legally divorced.
 
While many of our gatherings are attended by singles over forty, we welcome all ages. Check out our FAQ's for more information.
 
At our gatherings…
  • Safety is our top priority. We do not allow drinking alcohol, or bringing pets due to liability considerations with our insurance policy.
  • We protect each other’s privacy and watch for any signs of harassment. Our priority is to deal firmly, but lovingly with any report of behavior that violates our standards of conduct. Given that, we also believe it is your responsibility to address anything that you feel is harassment according to the model Jesus described in Matthew 18:15-17 “If a fellow believer hurts you, go and tell him—work it out between the two of you. If he listens, you’ve made a friend. If he won’t listen, take one or two others along so that the presence of witnesses will keep things honest, and try again. If he still won’t listen, tell the Church. If he won’t listen to the Church, you’ll have to start over from scratch, confront him with the need for repentance, and offer again God’s forgiving love.”
  • We hope to have authentic conversations, which might also be sensitive and private. Whatever is shared amongst any group of people should stay within that group.
  • We ask that the more you attend our gatherings, the more you contribute in some way to help us serve in preparation for and/or at the gatherings.
  • If in doubt as to how to act, then please remember that the Bible is our standard: Matthew 7:12 “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you.” and Colossians 3:12-14 “So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.”
